Paraplegia: Where does research stand today?

Yesterday's event at the SPZ in Nottwil marked our second appearance with an information stand since 2024. The event was held for the third time, following 2023 and 2024. The following topics were presented in six lectures divided into three blocks:

Block 1

  • Innovative approaches to pressure ulcer prevention (Dr. Ursina Arnet / Prof. Jivko Stoyanov)
  • Understanding spasticity: Mechanisms and targeted therapies (Asst. Prof. Claudia Kathe, PhD)

Block 2

  • Exoskeleton training at home and in the community (Dr. Mario Widmer / Dr. Tristan Vouga)
  • New MRI biomarkers in SCI (Prof. Dr. Patrick Freund)

Block 3

  • Development of a robotic arm with and for people with quadriplegia (Prof. Dr. Anja Raab / Prof. Dr. Gabriel Gruener)
  • Aging with spinal cord injury: Quo Vadis? (Prof. Dr. Carla Sabariego / PD Dr. med Inge Eriks-Hoogland, PhD)
